Tax reform

Wilson Lima reinforced that the tax reform being processed in the Federal Chamber needs to guarantee that the economic model in the state needs to be preserved

Manaus (AM) – When visiting a factory producing air conditioners that receives tax incentives from the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM), the governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima, reinforced, this Tuesday (4th), that the tax reform being processed in the Federal Chamber needs give guarantees that the economic model that employs 500,000 people – directly and indirectly – in the state needs to be preserved.

The governor visited the Daikin Ar Condicionado Amazonas Ltda factory, located in the Tarumã neighborhood, west zone. He pointed out that Amazonas is the world’s second largest producer of the segment and that his visit to companies in the Industrial Pole of Manaus reinforces the commitment of the Government of Amazonas to the model.

“The Manaus Free Trade Zone is our main economic activity, hence the commitment that our government has with these companies that generate employment, that generate income, that generate opportunities. And we now have the tax reform process, which is something that worries us and we have been very attentive, participating in discussions in Congress and also with the Federal Government so that the competitiveness of these companies is maintained”,

Wilson Lima pointed out.

Still this Tuesday, the governor also announced that he will be in Brasília for a meeting with the federal bench and on Wednesday he will be with the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, for the State of Amazonas to present his point of view on what guarantees the competitiveness of the Manaus Industrial Pole, including State tax collection.

The president of Daikin Amazonas, Masaru Kawakubo, who accompanied the governor, thanked him for the visit and highlighted the commitment to the environmental side of the leading company in the production of air conditioners worldwide.
