Nurses increase pressure by source to salary floor – 02/14/2023 – Panel SA

The attempt to implement a new salary floor for nursing, which has been dragging on since last year, heated up again this week, with strikes organized by the National Nursing Forum, this Tuesday (14), to pressure the government for a provisional measure that defines how the resources will reach the hospitals.

The CMB (Confederation of Santas Casas and philanthropic entities) is also preparing a public demonstration to publicize in the coming days with the entity’s position on the new floor and reflection predictions on SUS.

“The impact in some Santas Casas exceeds 60% on the value of the sheet. This discourages our entities from continuing to provide and increase the service of the Unified Health System”, says Mirócles Véras, president of the CMB.

He questions the way out found by Parliament to pay for the nursing floor, which was suspended by the STF last year. In December, a PEC enacted by Congress determined that states and municipalities will receive help from the Union to pay professionals through resources from the financial surplus of public funds, in the period between 2023 and 2027.

“The implementation of a floor without a perennial source of resources for its costing will have a disastrous result, contrary to the initial objective of strengthening the category. It will lead to mass unemployment, closure of beds and units and lack of assistance to the population. It is necessary that the new floor be implemented with financial and legal security”, states the CMB in the letter that will be released this week.
