Nunes and Leite disagree about TCM and Vice for 2024 – 05/11/2023 – Panel

The mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), and the president of the City Council, Milton Leite (União Brasil), have different views regarding the choices of the next counselor of the Municipal Court of Auditors and the vice-president on the ticket for re-election of the emedebist.
Leite tells allies that he closed agreements with Nunes that he would choose the councilor who will replace Maurício Faria, who will retire in June, and that his deputy would leave União Brasil. Nunes, in turn, denies the existence of the agreement to the court and has been talking to other parties about the vice, such as PL and Republicans.
Even so, the Union’s support for the mayor in the 2024 elections remains the main hypothesis so far. An own candidacy, however, is beginning to be considered, with Rodrigo Garcia (currently in the PSDB, but who should migrate to the Union) or federal deputy Felipe Becari (SP) —names that would also be suggested for Nunes’ vice president.
As the Panel showed, the current mayor has a list of four names for the TCM, all linked to him: Fabrício Cobra (Secretary of the Civil House), Marcela Arruda (Management), Ricardo Torres (Finance) and Ricardo Menezes (Legal Director of SP Works).
