“Lost generation” is a term created by the American writer Gertrude Stein, who moved to Paris at the beginning of the 20th century and from the French capital followed the two world wars.

The famous American writer Ernest Hemingway popularized the term in his books, especially the one published after his death, “Paris is a party”.

“Lost generation” referred to the waste of youth and the loss of millions of lives in the absurd First World War, which then provoked the so-called “Roaring Twenties”, culminating in the Great Depression in the 1930s.

Ironically, humanity did not learn the hard lesson and the Second World War became inevitable due to the intolerance, arrogance and stupidity of the political leaders of the time.

And humanity continues aimlessly, so much so that nothing effective has been done against the aggressiveness of the Russian dictator Putin, who is destroying Ukraine under the complacent eyes of the UN, NATO and other useless organizations.

Ah, but there is the fear of using the atomic bomb. Well then, if Russia uses a nuclear device against Ukraine, a second later Moscow will be wiped off the map. And Putin knows this.

But let’s get to what matters in this space: Neymar is the symbol of the lost generation of Brazilian football.

Despised by European football, given his disappointing performances in recent seasons, by PSG and, above all, by the Brazilian national team, he traded the career that could recover his image for the mountain of money in Saudi Arabia.

Neymar is the exponent of the worst generation of players in the history of Brazilian football.

Not only because the national team hasn’t won a World Cup for so long, because our clubs haven’t won world titles for many years either. But the current players do not convince, technically, in their absolute majority.

The directors are also incapable, so much so that an agreement is not reached for the creation of the Brazilian League of Clubs and the CBF continues to be very poorly managed.

The coaches of the new generation also failed, so much so that most teams in Série A do Brasileirão are commanded by foreign coaches. Referees are a separate disaster, with VAR and all.

The current reality of this lost generation is harsh, causing disenchantment in passionate fans who, little by little, must be realizing that money is far above dedication to the art of playing or respect for the shirt they wear.
