Neymar anticipates award and is elected best Brazilian abroad for the 6th time

Neymar revealed this Monday (6) through social networks that he won the Samba Gold award for the sixth time, given to the best Brazilian acting abroad. The publication of the 31-year-old PSG star precedes the official announcement by Sambafoot, the company that organizes the award, scheduled for February 15.
It is the third consecutive time that Neymar has won the individual award. He was also elected in 2014, 2015 and 2017. With the feat, he isolates himself in the lead of biggest Samba Gold winners.
THE PRIZE
The annual Samba Gold was created in 2008 and is made by popular vote. An electoral college made up of professionals linked to the sport indicates the 20 nominated players and, subsequently, a public vote is opened.
Voting for this edition began on January 3 and ended on the 31st. In addition to the male category, the award will elect the winners of the female and under-20 categories.
