New orientation generates 21 cards in the 1st round of the Brasileirão

The “zero tolerance” with complaints, initiated by the CBF in the first round of the Brazilian Championship, generated 21 cards for players and members of technical commissions.
Commanded by Wilson Seneme, the arbitration commission passed new recommendations for matches in Brazil.
The ‘zero tolerance’ with complaints was the most impactful. Referees must punish criticism directed at them or their assistants with cards. The main objective is to end the “wheels” of complaint, which is when referees are surrounded on the field.
ABEL WAS THE FIRST
Technician with the most cards in Brazilian football since the punishment for coaches was adopted, Abel Ferreira was one of those punished. It was his seventh expulsion, which already took 43 cards for Palmeiras.
Still in the first half of Palmeiras x Cuiabá, he was booked by Paulo César Zanovelli when trying to defend one of his assistants — who was also warned.
Faced with new complaints, the Portuguese ended up expelled less than five minutes later. Abel had left the technical area to complain to the linesman.
According to the game’s scoresheet, Abel said the officiating “was shit”.
IT WAS NOT JUST HIM
The report consulted the ten precedents of the first round of the Brazilian Championship. The documents, published hours after the matches, are on the official CBF website.
In all, 20 yellow cards and one red card were distributed per complaint – including data given to the Palmeiras coach, who was warned twice.
Of the ten matches, only two went unpunished: Botafogo x São Paulo (voiced by Ramon Abatti Abel) and Bragantino x Bahia (voiced by Maguielson Lima Barbosa)
The justification used by the referees in these cases follows a pattern. They state that there was punishment for the fact that the yellowish “disapproved with words or gestures the decisions of the referee”.
