Nestlé Brasil, in partnership with Senai and with support from the National Industry Confederation (CNI), announces the opening of the call for proposals “Food Innovation: Transforming the Future of the Food System”. With a contribution of R$6.25 million, the objective of the notice is to promote projects to solve challenges faced by regenerative agriculture, circularity and renewable energy.

The launch of the mission takes place on December 7, 2023. Proposals and projects must be sent between January 8 and April 4, 2024. The results will be released on May 29, 2024. The call for notice is available on the Innovation Platform for Industry website, in the “Industrial Mission” section.

The program seeks to outline paths to promote the transition to a sustainable energy matrix, boost recycling infrastructure, accelerate the reforestation process and reduce the carbon footprint.

“Climate urgency has elevated our actions and made us look systemically, no longer with the ambition of just preserving but rather regenerating the food system, which is complex. We believe that the future is collaborative and, therefore, we are excited about this unprecedented mission of innovation in partnership with Senai to further evolve the cultivation process in the company’s main production chains, sustainable practices in operations and circularity”, he states Barbara Sapunar, executive director of Business Transformation at Nestlé Brasil.

The program has national coverage, present in 28 Senai Institutes of Innovation and 59 Senai Institutes of Technology. The Nestlé and Senai Mission intends to form alliances with startups, universities, large companies and government agencies, to plan applications for companies’ strategic production chains.

“Senai’s Innovation for Industry Platform promotes systemic and collaborative innovation, as it enables the capture of strengthening technological solutions for changes in the country’s pre-competitive and industrial chains. Furthermore, it seeks to accelerate the development of important innovation guidelines in the face of such urgent demands in our society”, highlights Gustavo Leal, general director of Senai.
