Visits to schools in the state network mark the next step in the partnership between the Department of Education, Cecane, FNDE and CAE

The training meeting of the actors involved in the execution of the National School Feeding Program (PNAE) in Amazonas marked the end of the first week of advisory and monitoring actions with school agents from the state network, carried out by the Collaborating Center for School Feeding and Nutrition, of the Federal University of Amazonas (Cecane/Ufam).

Since the 4th of July, Cecane, the body responsible for supporting the National Education Development Fund (FNDE), has carried out activities in the auditorium of the Pe. José Anchieta (Cepan), from the State Secretariat for Education and School Sports. More than 250 school agents, including district coordinators, nutritionists and managers were present at the training meeting.

“We invited to this week all those agents responsible for school meals in the state network. We have managed to establish a very close dialogue between Cecane, the Department of Education and the FNDE, which has enabled a strong performance, both in the capital and in the interior of Amazonas”,

highlighted nutritionist and PNAE agent in Cecane, Alzemira Canuto.

Actions carried out during the week will result in an x-ray of school lunches in the state, which will subsidize the FNDE, the federal body responsible for resolutions and funds also destined for school meals. With the aim of encompassing the entire school community in the state, the training meeting was broadcast live on the Youtube channel of the Amazonas Education Media Center (Cemeam).

The next step in the monitoring actions for school meals in Amazonas begins on July 10th, next Monday, when teams from Cecane, FNDE, School Food Council (CAE) and nutritionists from the School Food Management (GAE) , from the Department of Education will visit teaching units of the state network.

The expectation is that the inspections will take place until October this year. The municipality of Manacapuru (68 kilometers from Manaus) will be the first to receive the teams, followed by Itacoatiara (176 kilometers) and Autazes (113 kilometers). On July 13th, six schools in the capital of Amazonas will receive the working groups of the responsible bodies.

“The visits will start next Monday, where we will divide our teams to inspect whether the schools in the state network are following the technical norms of the FNDE. This work is continuous, carried out every year by these same agents”,

highlighted FNDE technician Carlos Antônio.

The goal is that, by October of this year, at least 30 schools in the state education network will be inspected. Through technical cooperation, Cecane has been assisting, since 2018, the Department of Education in complying with the PNAE.
