The President of the Republic lost four months and ten days in these practically 130 days in which he collected defeats never seen before in this country with a National Congress generally benevolent with new governments.

Lack of experience is not. Nor repeated warnings. This is probably about overconfidence by the agent in his own club. And this one is worn out by the passage of time. In the campaign, the then candidate promised to manage the relationship with Parliament on the basis of “conversation”. He imagined taking his excellencies with him.
The reality, however, proved to be more complex. Usually shrewd, Lula in this mandate seems to have had his vision clouded by the inflated ego due to the comeback. He promises to take the reins of the grassroots organization based on the following tripod: release of amendments, demand for loyalty and presence in negotiations.
This all counts, but it is far from insufficient, as there is no sensitivity to perceive that the humor of their excellencies now has the social networks factor as a reference. Congressmen like official favors, but they also like the votes that keep them in the condition of privileged interlocutors of the central power. Today there is external pressure that did not exist 20 years ago.
The distribution of positions and amendments has already been incorporated by the Legislature as an “obligation” of the Executive. The list of measures lacks inclusive dialogue with attention to the real demands of society. Listen and, above all, attend to those who think differently. Lula speaks for the left, but he won through the democratic pragmatism of the center.
There is no way to succeed against the grain of the times. Elected dressed with a wide front and governing in a narrow front, he pleases the minority, but displeases the majority.
