Music on the Road Festival arrives in Manaus with singing, dancing and educational activities

Manaus (AM) – The Music on the Road Festival reaches its ninth edition in 2023 with Manaus as its first destination. The program, held between the 7th and 11th of August, encompasses a series of artistic and cultural activities, completely free of charge, which include educational activities – artistic experiences, workshops, masterclasses and workshops –, in addition to singing and dancing shows, and much more.

The opening of the artistic program will be marked by the unprecedented meeting of Corpo de Dança do Amazonas with Focus Cia de Dança, from Rio de Janeiro, on August 9, at 8 pm, at Teatro Amazonas.

Then, on the 10th of August, also at 8 pm, the Amazonas Philharmonic, the Coral do Amazonas and soloists, under the direction and conducting of Marcelo de Jesus, will present the monumental work Requiem, by the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi. All performances at Teatro Amazonas will have free admission.

Educational actions

In addition to the shows, educational actions will be held in the city, such as singing masterclasses with Kismara Pezzati (mezzo-soprano / Zurich) and Luiz-Ottavio Faria (bass / São Paulo), on August 7th, 8th and 9th, from 2:30 pm to 5 pm, at the Superior School of Arts and Tourism of the State University of Amazonas (ESAT/UEA), at Avenida Leonardo Malcher, 1728, Praça 14 de Janeiro.

On August 8th, from 3 pm to 6 pm, an artistic experience will be held by Focus Cia de Dança with Corpo de Dança do Amazonas, at Teatro da Instalação, Rua Frei José dos Inocentes, Centro. There will also be dance workshops with members of Focus Cia de Dança, on August 10th, from 9 am to 11:30 am and from 2 pm to 4:30 pm, and on August 11th – from 9 am to 11:30 am, at Liceu de Artes e Ofícios Claudio Santoro, at the Manaus Sambadrome.

Enrollment to participate in the educational activities of the Música na Estrada Festival is free and can be done through the website musicanaestrada.art.br.

Leaving Manaus, the festival will head to Belém, from October 11th to 15th; São Luís, from October 17th to 19th; and Boa Vista, from the 22nd to the 24th of November. Presented by the Vale Cultural Institute, the Festival Música na Estrada – 9th edition is a realization of the Federal Law of Incentive to Culture, through the Ministry of Culture, the Federal Government and Kommitment Produções Artísticas.

In Manaus, the project has the institutional support of the State Government, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy and a media partnership with the Encontro das Águas Radio and Television System.

There are now eight editions promoting accessibility, audience formation and educational improvement in the areas of music, dance and theater through the exchange and appreciation of artistic content from various regions of the country.

Considered one of the most relevant projects in the North and Midwest of the country and already incorporated into the calendar of many cities, the 9th edition of the Festival will take place from August to November 2023 in Manaus, Belém, São Luís and Boa Vista.

The artistic program favors classical music, also offering performing arts and instrumental music, alongside traditional music and dance workshops, masterclasses and workshops.
