Parintins (AM) — With resources worth R$ 12 million from a parliamentary amendment by Senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM), the long-awaited Museu dos Bois had its bid accepted this month and should soon start the construction phase of the new tourist spot that celebrates the tradition of the Parintins Folk Festival. The project promises to be another attraction for tourists visiting the island, in addition to preserving the memory of the festivity that annually puts the city in the spotlight for the rest of the world.

The financing of the project was made possible thanks to the parliamentary amendment of Senator Omar Aziz, who has been committed to bringing benefits to the Amazon and believes that with the approval of the bidding, the works of the museum should move the local economy and generate jobs in the region.

“Over the years, the Parintins Folklore Festival has attracted more and more Brazilian and foreign visitors, who are enchanted by the colorful and energetic performances of the Bumbás Caprichoso and Garantido. Therefore, the city feels the need to invest in a space that can portray and immortalize the grandeur of this popular festival”

The museum’s basic project includes a space for museology with capacity to serve up to 360 tourists daily. According to Amazonastur, responsible for executing the project, the tourist enterprise will be implemented in Praça da Liberdade, on Avenida Nações Unidas, in the center of Parintins, in a total area of ​​2 thousand square meters. The space will promote the preservation of the cultural, material and immaterial heritage of the bumbás and the Folk Festival, which last year attracted more than 100,000 tourists to the island.

The Museu dos Bois project, designed to be a tourist reference point, should introduce visitors to the history, tradition, music and dance that surround the Parintins Festival, with interactive areas in an immersive experience in the universe of local culture .

For Mayor Bi Garcia, in addition to keeping the history of the bumbás alive, the new venture promises to boost tourism in the city outside the festival season.
