Municipality of Santana regulates the Municipal Culture Fund – News of Brazil

A decades-long struggle by the cultural and artistic class of the municipality of Santana has just concluded with a great victory. The mayor bullet rock sanctioned last Friday (23) decree nº 1036, which regulates the city’s Municipal Culture Fund (FMC).
Among the many purposes for which the Fund will significantly benefit local segments, is the financing of public policies with resources destined to programs, projects and cultural actions implemented in a decentralized way, in collaboration and with co-financing from the Union, State and Municipality. .
The result of extensive discussion between the municipal administration and the cultural society of Santa Catarina, the decree provides the cultural class with a direct way of raising funds and making projects viable, allocating in the coming years up to 2% (two percent) of municipal tax collection (taxes and fees) to the Municipal Cultural Fund, with the aim of encouraging the realization of artistic and cultural projects in the municipality.
For Mayor Bala Rocha, it is a pleasure to bring another benefit in favor of the local cultural classes.
“It will help a lot in the growth and strengthening of our culture, especially in fundraising, such as the Paulo Gustavo Law of the Federal Government”declared Bala, in a video produced on the same day the municipal decree was sanctioned.
The head of the Municipal Culture Foundation of Santana (Sancult), Elaine Araújo, also positively praised this successful stage for the sector, which generates income and jobs in the city.
“Today, Santana has its CPF Cultural duly created and regulated, which means that the resources of the Paulo Gustavo Law will already be directed to the Municipal Culture Fund of Santana”said Elaine Araújo.

The Municipal Culture Fund (FMC) aims to provide financial support to projects of an artistic-cultural nature and to the development of cultural producer programs in the municipality.
In order for the FMC de Santana to be able to receive funds from other instances (federal or state government), the entire Municipal System had to be implemented, which has already been recognized and regulated by the municipal authorities in December 2022, with the support of the Council of Culture and the Municipal Culture Plan of Santana.
Therefore, the city now has all the appropriate prerequisites for receiving resources aimed at local culture, having the Municipal Council (C), an Action Plan (P) and now the regulation of the Municipal Culture Fund (F ). Thus, called ‘Cultural CPF’.
