Next week, Defense Minister José Múcio will pay a visit to an Army platoon in a Yanomami region of São Gabriel da Cachoeira, a city in the Amazon near the borders with Venezuela and Colombia.
It will be the minister’s first visit to the Maturacá Border Platoon. The commander of the Army, Tomás Paiva, will also participate in the operational program, which will take place on the 26th and 27th. The Amazon region is considered strategic by Múcio and by the Armed Forces.
