Last Saturday (12), Campo Grande, capital of Mato Grosso do Sul, hosted the MS International Cup of Jiu-Jitsu, organized by FSMJJ (Federação Sul Mato Grosso do Jiu-Jitsu) in partnership with CBJJD. Valid for the first stage of Circuito MS – and fourth of Circuito Nacional Mineirinho -, the event had the participation of more than 500 athletes, representing 53 associations and five different states.
In addition to the top-notch structure that the FSMJJ prepared at the Rádio Clube Campo gym, the cash prizes for the champions of the absolute and the New Talents Challenge further spiced up the MS International Cup, which at black belt featured Diego Silva, from Prime Team RJ, weight and absolute champion in the masters.
In the New Talents Challenge, the show was up to the children, who, like Diego, secured important points in the CBJJD national ranking. At the end of the season, the 2022/23 champions will earn tickets to international ISBJJ competitions in Europe.
In the Team Challenge, Cícero Costha won the title in the children’s/juvenile competition, while Checkmat won in the adult/master’s competition. President of the FSMJJ, Fabio Rocha made an assessment of the MS International Cup:
“It was a beautiful championship, where we were able to deliver to the athletes and the public present much more than fights, but a Saturday full of joy and relaxation. 10 years of partnership”, he concluded.
After the MS International Jiu-Jitsu Cup, on March 18th the Federation returns to the State Championship, in Dourados, valid for the second stage of the MS Circuit. Entries will open from 02/17 on the website www.fsmjj.com.br.
