The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF) announced this Monday (3) that it will analyze whether Pastor André Valadão committed homophobia in a service at his church, broadcast on YouTube. The sermon was held at Lagoinha Baptist Church, in Orlando, United States, on Sunday (2).
During the ceremony, Valadão criticized LGBT activism. According to him, if God had not made a promise, “he would kill everything and start over”.
“It is not a mere marriage. What counts is every form of love; let them marry, let them live… Then today you see naked men and women on the charts, with their genitals completely exposed, dancing in front of children… Then you are horrified, but that door was opened when we treated as normal what the Bible already condemns”, he said, referring to the LGBT Pride Parade.
“Now is the time to take the ropes back and say: stop it, reseta! But God says he can’t anymore, “he said. “He says, ‘I’ve already put that rainbow in there. If I could, I’d kill everything and start over, but I promised I can’t’. Now it’s with you.”
After the negative repercussions, the pastor published another video on social networks to deny the accusations that he wanted or encouraged the death of the LGBT population. The purpose of the demonstrations, he said, was to try to raise awareness of people’s behavior.
“It will never be about killing, segregating, but it will be about resetting, taking back the essence, at the beginning…. Yes, it is up to those who believe in Jesus to take the message of a fresh start, reset, restart, being born again and living no longer for themselves, but for God and his laws, ”he declared.
