Senator Sergio Moro (União Brasil-PR) criticized this Tuesday (27) the action of the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) that requests the cancellation of three radio concessions granted to Jovem Pan. Prosecutors accuse the broadcaster of promoting “wide-scale disinformation”. The parliamentarian stated that the MPF initiative “represents an authoritarian risk”.
For Moro, “possible abuses or excesses must be resolved by fine or compensation”. The MPF also requests that Jovem Pan be fined BRL 13.4 million for alleged collective moral damages for the content broadcast.
“The action of some MPF prosecutors in which they ask for the judicial cancellation of the broadcasting licenses for Jovem Pan violates freedom of the press and represents an authoritarian risk. Any abuses or excesses must be resolved by means of a fine or compensation”, said the senator in the twitter.
