More than 60% of drivers in Rio Grande do Sul paid the IPVA by the end of March

Still according to the survey, the collection reached the amount of R$ 2.9 billion, which represents 61% of the expected collection with the taxable fleet in Rio Grande do Sul. In comparison with the same period of the previous year, there was a nominal increase of R$ 486 million to the Rio Grande do Sul coffers. Regarding the number of compliant vehicles, the increase was 5%.
The resources collected with the IPVA are divided into 50% for the municipality where the vehicle is licensed and 50% remain in the State coffers, as established in the Federal Constitution. Until last Sunday (2/4), Porto Alegre, which has the largest fleet in the State, had already registered the payment of 52% of taxable vehicles. The highest rate of IPVA collection is in the city of Nova Roma do Sul, where more than 80% of the cars have the tax paid.
New inserted in the IPVA 2022 cycle, payment per pix represents 22.8% of the total vehicles paid by taxpayers. Compared to the previous year, Sefaz recorded a 39% increase in cash payments through the modality created by the Central Bank.
IPVA salaries occur between the 24th and 28th of April, according to the final number on the vehicle’s license plate. Drivers who pay the tax by the due date can still take advantage of the Good Driver discounts, which can reach 15% for those who have not committed a traffic violation for three years, and the Good Citizen discounts, which offer up to 5 % for those who have at least 150 invoices with CPF issued between November 1, 2021 and October 30, 2022.
