The former Minister and former Secretary of Public Security for the DF Anderson Torres was arrested as part of the investigation into the acts of January 8
Brasilia DF) – The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes opened a view, this Tuesday (7), for the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) to comment on the request for freedom of the former minister and former secretary of Public Security of the Federal District Anderson Torres.
On Monday (6), Anderson Torres’ lawyers asked for the arrest to be revoked and replaced by precautionary measures, such as the use of an electronic anklet or home collection on certain days and times.
Anderson Torres was arrested on January 14, as part of an investigation into alleged omission or connivance by authorities in the invasion and depredation of the National Congress, Planalto Palace and STF, on January 8.
He traveled to the United States on the 7th, although his vacation was officially scheduled for two days later. Anderson Torres was dismissed on the 8th, in the midst of anti-democratic acts at the headquarters of the Three Powers.
Lawyers told Moraes that the arrest represents an illegal embarrassment. According to the defense, “even in the very short four-day stay of Anderson Torres at the SSP/DF, all care was anticipated, with tasks distributed, relationships established between the participants”.
According to the lawyers, Anderson Torres has “absolute interest in elucidating the facts investigated in the present inquiry, committing himself, for that purpose, to hand over his passport to the Justice and, from the outset, opening up his secrecy (banking, tax , telephone, telematics, etc.), without prejudice to any and all efforts to clarify all the facts related to the present investigation”.
