The minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes determined this Wednesday (12) that a medical board assess the physical and mental state of former deputy Roberto Jefferson. The minister responded to a request made by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) this Tuesday (11).

The defense requested the revocation of the former parliamentarian’s arrest. Jefferson is imprisoned at the Bangu Penitentiary Complex, in Rio de Janeiro, but had to be transferred to a hospital after a fall in his cell. According to lawyers, Roberto Jefferson needs proper medical treatment outside prison. According to supporters, he has already lost about 16 kg, informed Agência Brasil.

Moraes will only decide whether Jefferson remains in the hospital or returns to prison after reviewing the medical report. In addition, the Penitentiary Administration Secretariat of Rio de Janeiro must say whether the penitentiary hospital has the capacity to continue medical treatment.
