Moraes breaks secrecy of images of the 8/1 of the Planalto – 04/21/2023 – Politics

The Minister of the STF (Federal Supreme Court) Alexandre de Moraes determined this Friday (21) the breach of secrecy of the images of January 8 from the security cameras of the Planalto Palace and the testimony of the GSI (Institutional Security Office) ) that appear in the cutscenes.

Excerpts from the internal security circuit of Planalto were released by CNN Brasil on Wednesday (19), and led to the downfall of GSI minister Gonçalves Dias. The material was placed under secrecy by the federal government and denied to the Sheet in February.

In this Friday’s decision, the Minister of the Supreme Court demands the sending of “all existing material” in the hands of the GSI within 48 hours, and states that the “full preservation of the images” “will be assessed in a subsequent expertise”.

In the order, Moraes also determines that the acting minister of the GSI, Ricardo Capelli, send a full copy of the investigation initiated, within the scope of the GSI, to verify the conduct of civil and military public agents involved in the episode.

The report of Sheet asked, via the Access to Information Law, for the complete images recorded by the internal and external security cameras of the Palácio do Planalto system, referring to the Sunday in which coup demonstrators vandalized the buildings of the three Powers.

By denying access to the full images, the GSI stated in February that it is “unreasonable” to disclose information that exposes methods, equipment, operational procedures and human resources of presidential security.
