After being fined by Minister Alexandre de Moraes for failing to comply with a court decision that prevented him from creating profiles on social networks and producing content with “disinformation”, influencer Bruno Monteiro Aiub, known as Monark, filed an appeal with the Federal Supreme Court (STF) to revert the R$300,000 fine he received.
In the request, the defense of the 32-year-old from São Paulo asks Alexandre de Moraes to reconsider the decisions against Monark and that the appeal be sent for judgment in the plenary of the STF. The lawyers also ask for the reopening of the boy’s social networks, which were blocked three times on the grounds of spreading “fake news” about the STF and supporting demonstrations after the 2022 elections.
According to Alexandre de Moraes, the influencer created the profiles to reproduce content with misinformation, after a contrary decision by the STF minister himself, and continued “publishing new attacks, violating a court decision, which can even characterize the crime of disobedience”, informs in the decision of July 28.
In the same document, Moraes states that the influencer tried to profit from the material, “violating the Supreme Court’s decision”, and orders the Central Bank to immediately block the amount of the fine, in addition to the suspension of “amounts arising from monetization” in these channels.
The magistrate also determined that several social networks block accounts and profiles of Monark, under penalty of a fine of R$ 100 thousand per day, and that they provide the STF with registration data of the profiles.
