Brasilia DF) – The federal deputy Saullo Vianna (UB) informed, this Tuesday (9), that he received from the secretary of Primary Care of the Ministry of Health (MS), Nésio Fernandes, the guarantee that Amazonas will gain more places in the More Doctors Program.
“We went to the secretary to request more vacancies from Mais Médicos for Amazonas and we received the good news that Amazonas will be able to gain up to 478 new doctors to reinforce the teams in Manaus and the interior”,
revealed Saullo Vianna.
During the meeting at the Ministry of Health, the deputy from Amazonas highlighted the difficulties in hiring and keeping doctors in the municipalities, especially in the most distant ones.
“We are also forwarding a request for the Ministry to adopt mechanisms so that the vacancies destined, mainly to the interior, become more attractive and can be filled completely”, said Vianna, adding that in the last years the program was quite and harmed in the state due to the difficulty of retaining health professionals.
Meeting with secretaries to explain new Mais Médicos
In addition to a policy of attracting doctors to the interior, it was decided that Saullo Vianna and the MS technicians will hold a remote meeting with all the Health Secretaries in Amazonas to detail the changes in the program and ensure that the Mais Médicos public notices have effectiveness.
In all, the new More Doctors will offer new 6,252 vacancies across the country for 2,074 municipalities, including 1,000 unprecedented positions for the Legal Amazon. With that, in addition to replacing professionals in locations that have ceased to be served in recent years, the new modality of the program seeks to expand its operations in this region, historically lacking in health professionals.
