Ministers of President Lula’s government (PT) celebrated the re-election of the President of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), a candidate supported by Planalto. “Important for the defense of democracy and the resumption of growth in our country”, said the Minister of Education, Camilo Santana (PT-CE).

The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino (PSB-MA), who was exonerated to take office as senator-elect, stated that Pacheco’s victory “showed the right path” for the defense of democracy. “I think the result was excellent for Brazil. It was a result that honors the victory of democracy”, said Dino.

For the Minister of Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilha (PT-SP), who took office as federal deputy but will give up the position to remain in the ministry, “the victory (by Pacheco) creates a positive institutional environment so that we can advance in that that Brazil needs”.

Senator Wellington Dias (PT-PI), Minister of Social Development, also celebrated Pacheco’s victory and spoke of “pacification” between the Three Powers. “The victory is the victory of democracy, of an environment of pacification. An opportunity for us to work in an integrated manner in the Three Powers”, he highlighted.
