Minister Waldez opens ‘Desevolve North’ Forum in Macapá – News of Brazil

Opened by the portfolio minister, Waldez Goes, takes place throughout this Monday, the 20th, at Sebrae-AP, the ‘Desenvolve Norte’ seminar, promoted by the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development (MIDR).
Before the beginning of the event, the minister waldez spoke exclusively on the show ‘LuizMeloEntrevista’ (Diário FM 90.9)emphasizing that the forum, scheduled for all states in the North, seeks to show governments, city halls, entrepreneurs and organized civil society, the projects of the MIDR to develop the region.
Waldez Goes informed that after the Develop North seminar takes place in each state, he will meet with the Legal Amazon Consortium, which brings together the governors of the region, for decision-making regarding the execution of projects.
Amapá had the distinction of initiating the series of forums Develop North, However, as the minister said waldez, already with some projects worked on for execution, among them, containment of the phenomenon of landslides in Bailique and the invasion of oceanic waters in the Amazon river, as well as the Border Development Plan, involving eight municipalities in the state.
The holder of MIDR recalled that his portfolio seeks to reduce regional differences and that, therefore, similar seminars to the Develop North will be held in other regions of the country, even in the South and Southeast, which do not have a consortium of governors, but that he will encourage training.
“All states in Brazil will be contemplated with this level of planning. This is President Lula’s orientation: that we guide dialogue with everyone to reduce the inequalities that are very strong between regions, even because the country has continental dimensions”said the minister.
Waldez Goes he also explained that one of the characteristics of the ministry he directs is to act transversally with other departments of the federal government, and that, therefore, with the influence of the senator David Alcolumbre, soon the ministers will come to Amapá Rui Costa (Civil House Chief), Alexandre Padilha (Institutional Relations), Jader Filho (Cities) and Wellington Dias (Development, Family and Fight Against Hunger).
