Minister Waldez Góes discusses land integration between Amapá and Pará with the mayor of Almeirim – News of Brazil

The Minister of Integration and Regional Development, Waldez Góes, received, this Wednesday (25), the mayor of Almeirim (PA), Lúcia Carvalho. The agenda was centered on projects that foster development in the border region between the northeast of Pará and Amapá. One of the highlights is the possibility of integrating the state of Amapá to the state of Pará by land, with the interconnection of BR-156 with BR-254.
“This action has been planned for decades and will facilitate the integration of the Amazon region, in addition to facilitating trade in Northern Brazil and integration with the Guiana Plateau and the Caribbean. The Ministry has the mission of structuring projects with this vision of integration and regional development”, highlighted Minister Waldez Góes.
During the meeting, the minister also presented the National Integration Routes Strategy, especially the Cocoa and Milk Routes.
National Integration Routes are networks of Local Productive Arrangements (APLs) associated with strategic production chains capable of promoting productive inclusion and sustainable development in the Brazilian regions prioritized by the National Policy for Regional Development (PNDR).
The initiative seeks to promote the coordination of public and private actions in selected centers, through the sharing of information and the use of collective synergies in order to promote innovation, differentiation, competitiveness and sustainability of associated enterprises, thus contributing to productive inclusion, innovation and regional development.
Currently, there are 11 Routes recognized by the Federal Government: Açaí, Biodiversity, Cocoa, Lamb, Circular Economy, Fruit Growing, Milk, Honey, Fashion, Fish and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) .
In Pará, five poles are in operation. There are three on the Açaí Route: Baixo Tocantins, Marajó and Nordeste Paraense; the Southeast Paraense unit of Rota do Mel; and the Transamazônica hub of the Biodiversity Route.
