Minister Luís Roberto Barroso, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), is hospitalized in the ICU of Hospital Sírio Libanês in Brasília to recover from intestinal obstruction surgery. According to the team at his office, this Thursday (9), the procedure had to be done due to complications from the closure of an incisional hernia, at the end of February, due to a previous surgery.

In an official note (see in full), Barroso’s team also states that the magistrate participated by video in a STF session on March 1st. “Unfortunately, he subsequently had two episodes of intestinal obstruction that required two new procedures,” reports the statement.

The magistrate is cared for by doctors Cassio Gontijo and Fabio Ferreira. “The minister’s recovery is as expected. Soon, he must leave the ICU, where he is to facilitate medical observation ”, completes Barroso’s team.
