The Federal Police will hear, this Wednesday (12), about 80 Army soldiers and the former head of the Presidential Guard Battalion, Colonel José Fernandes da Hora, about the invasions and acts of vandalism to the Three Powers, in January 8th. General Gustavo Dutra, who headed the Planalto Military Command, will also be one of the deponents.

The testimonies started this morning and will be held throughout the day at the National Academy of the PF, which is 20km from the center of Brasília. According to information from the CNN Brazilthe PF summoned several civil servants, including those who would be off duty, to gather information and speed up the completion of the investigation.

The police want to know if the military collaborated so that the seat of government was invaded, and if they made it difficult for the vandals to leave the place.

The alleged interference was pointed out by Colonel Jorge Eduardo Naime, former commander of Operations of the Military Police of the Federal District, in a statement to the CPI on Anti-democratic Acts of the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District, on March 16. He said that the Army soldiers made a barrier to prevent the arrest of the suspects.

In February, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), determined that it was the competence of the STF to judge the military involved in the acts of January 8, and not of the Military Justice. Already in the last month, the Attorney General’s Office opened an investigation against the military of the Armed Forces for alleged involvement in the demonstrations.
