Miguel Setas takes command of the CCR group – 05/01/2023 – Panel SA

Miguel Setas, who served as CEO of EDP Brasil, ended his first week as the new president of the CCR Group. According to the executive, the first days were spent visiting lines 8 and 9 of the ViaMobilidade trains in São Paulo.

A physical engineer by training, Setas has spent the last 25 years working as an executive in companies in the electricity and infrastructure sectors. He was CEO of EDP Brasil between 2014 and 2021 and in the last two years he worked at EDP in Portugal.

“My impressions of this first week of work are very positive. I started the agenda through Lines 8-9 of ViaMobilidade, as I am aware of the challenges we have with this operation. And, soon, I want to visit all the Units, including airports and highways. My goal is to get to know, interact with the teams and integrate quickly, to continue with our growth agenda”, said Setas to the column.

The São Paulo train lines are two of the major bottlenecks that the CCR group currently has. In recent months, after a series of serious failures, the Public Ministry has pressured the Tarcísio de Freitas government to take measures against the company, including the termination of the concession contract —which ViaMobilidade won in 2021.

On the last 17th, the company presented an investment package of R$ 87 million for improvements in the infrastructure of the branches.
