Miguel Livramento, icon of Santa Catarina journalism – 08/16/2023 – Daily life

In more than 50 years of career, Miguel Livramento was a reporter, narrator and commentator in the main communication vehicles of Santa Catarina.

Born in Biguaçu, in the metropolitan region of Florianópolis, his beginnings in journalism happened by chance in the capital. In 1971, when he was working in an appliance store downtown, he heard incorrect information on the broadcast of Rádio Anita Garibaldi about Avaí, his favorite team. He called the announcer and was put live on air to correct the news.

He liked the experience so much that he started going to the station at lunch to set the right time and call the next attraction at noon. After some invitations to comment on games, he was hired as a sports reporter for Rádio Jornal A Verdade the following year.

From then on, he went through several radio stations, especially CBN Florianópolis and Rádio Guarujá, and television, such as TV Barriga Verde, RBS TV (currently NSCTV), SCC and NDTV. His debut on the small screen had been on TV Cultura, in 1978. Miguelzinho, as he was known, was also a columnist for the newspaper Hora de Santa Catarina.

With his colleague Roberto Alves, he formed the most famous partnership in sports journalism in Santa Catarina. “We formed a duo at RCE TV for almost 40 years. At a certain point, we went in different directions, but we remained great friends. He was a distinguished professional, correct, very popular and who dignified communication, radio and television”, he says. Alves.

Irreverence and charisma were the hallmarks of Miguelzinho, who began narrating football matches in 1976. In the following years, he coined some catchphrases that were notable, such as “This Avaí does something”, “Conta aqui para o doll” and ” If that’s not a penalty, my grandma is a bicycle”.

At the round tables, he played the polemical role, not mincing words in comments and criticisms. And he always defended his Avai.

Lately, Miguel has been suffering from pulmonary emphysema, the result of his years as a smoker. When he got bronchitis, he got a congested lung and started feeling sick, with a coughing fit and shortness of breath. He was taken to the doctor, who prescribed antibiotics, but he returned home and died on August 2 of a cardiorespiratory arrest at 8:56 pm, aged 81.

“On the eve of his death, I spoke to him for 30 minutes, and it seemed like he was saying goodbye. He wasn’t on the radio or TV and he missed his daily life”, says Roberto Alves.

Miguel Aroldo Livramento leaves his ex-wife, Doroti das Neves Livramento, four children (Márcio, Marcos, Marcelo and Mauro), in addition to his grandson Davi and his current wife, Rosa.
