Meta will bring the broadcast channels tool to Facebook, launched on Instagram in June. The feature begins to be tested this Wednesday (18) on the platform founded by Mark Zuckerberg.

Restricted to pages, the creation of transmission channels allows, for example, the sending of exclusive content, as part of promoting a project or as a means of permanent communication with your followers, in a faster way and targeted at a specific audience.

Creators will also be able to access the feature on the Facebook-linked messaging app, Messenger.

Brazil is among the countries chosen for the resource’s testing period and today there is “a small number of pages with access”. There is no information about the release date for the general public. Meta claims that more pages will receive the tool in the coming weeks.

When the page owner sends the first message on the channel, all followers receive a notification with the option to join the chat.

From the moment a profile enters a transmission channel, it will receive notifications of all updates. Within the group, you can request poll responses and also list all the channels that the profile created and that can be accessed by followers.

Channels can also have an expiration date and time and the creator can define a moderator who manages members, messages and content.

When the tool was launched on Instagram, people went to X (formerly Twitter) to complain about the excessive notifications.
