MEC announces 2nd call for proof of Prouni documentation

This Monday (24), the Ministry of Education (MEC) provides the second call for proof of documentation of those classified in the University for All Program (Prouni), which offers full and partial scholarships in undergraduate courses in private institutions of higher education.
Selected candidates will have until August 3rd to prove the information provided during registration. This year, for the second semester, 276,566 scholarships were made available, of which 215,530 were full and 61,036 were partial, with 50% of the monthly fee for undergraduate courses or specific training.
Those pre-selected who compete for full scholarships must prove family income of up to 1.5 minimum wages, currently at R$1,980, per person. In the case of candidates for partial scholarships, the monthly income to be proven is up to three minimum wages, per person, currently at a limit of R$ 3,960.
In addition to these criteria, candidates must meet the requirements related to high school education, or proof of disability, or proof of training for teaching basic education, as provided for in the public notice.
Submission of documents can be done electronically at the Single Access Portal of MEC, or at the higher education institution itself.
The selected candidates are those classified according to their course and institution options and the grades obtained in the National High School Examination (Enem) and who failed to meet the requirements in the period of the first call, which took place at the beginning of July.
Applicants who are unable to prove the documentation required in these two calls will lose the scholarship and open up a new opportunity for candidates classified on the waiting list. The disclosure of the waiting list and the beginning of the deadlines for proving documents is expected to take place on August 18th.
