Mayor of Campinas rebuts Lula: ‘Human is not lying’ – 06/18/2023 – Panel

The mayor of Campinas, Dário Saadi (Republicans), countered this Sunday (18) criticisms made by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) regarding the construction of a set of popular housing with units of 15 m².

“Yesterday I saw it on television: the city of Campinas, which is one of the richest cities in this country, the mayor of that city is building 15m² houses so that poor people can stay there for… with seven people”, he declared during the ceremony. this Saturday (17), in Belém.

In a video published on a social network, Saadi says that Lula spoke “a lot of nonsense, nonsense and lies” about him. As he explains, the construction is not a housing program by the city hall, but a joint action by the city hall with the Justice to house residents of the Mandela Vive Occupation, who were under eviction orders.

“The City Hall made an urban subdivision there, with infrastructure, asphalt, water, electricity. And also in response to the claim, the request of the residents, built the embryo there, which is a small unit, already prepared for expansion”, explains Saadi .

Still on Saturday, Lula says that the mayor of Campinas “is not a human person”.

The mayor ends by asking the president to stop “playing politics” and work together to offer affordable housing.
