Senator Marcos do Val (Podemos-ES) has always harshly criticized the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and even stated, in 2019, that the Court was the legal department of crime in the country.
“Crime in Brazil is so organized that its legal department is the STF,” he said in a Twitter post in 2019.
The message was praised by then senator Álvaro Dias. “Senator Marcos do Val’s indignation and courage”, wrote the parliamentarian from Paraná.
Do Val’s advisory states that he published the message in another context, when he was still in his first year in office.
The parliamentarian also asked for the impeachment of STF minister Gilmar Mendes, filing a complaint of a crime of responsibility against him, alleging, among other things, that the magistrate had allegedly exercised undue influence for the installation of an industrial complex in Diamantino (MT) , Your hometown.
In the Covid-19 pandemic, Do Val returned to the charge, reinforcing the request for removal because of the statement in which Gilmar Mendes associated the Brazilian Army with genocide, because of the deaths caused by the virus.

In another publication, he released a photo-montage in which he is facing Gilmar Mendes, with the caption: “Here (sic) Brasília, either it corrupts, or it omits, or it goes to war!”.
