March for Life and new parliamentary front

This Tuesday (20th), the Chamber of Deputies will hold a tribute ceremony to entities and personalities that stood out in actions to support maternity and in the area of defense of life. The event will take place in the main hall, starting at 10 am, shortly after the launch of the Parliamentary Front in Defense of Life and Family.
Furthermore, the 16th edition of the National March for Life and Against Abortion will be held this Tuesday, starting at 2 pm, at the Esplanada dos Ministérios. With the theme “Life Forever”, the objective is to make the authorities aware of the importance of defending life from conception.
This is the view of 70% of the Brazilian population, which is against the legalization of abortion, according to a survey released by IPEC in September last year.
The march also calls for the rejection of ADPF 442, which is being processed by the Federal Supreme Court, and the approval of the Statute of the Unborn Child (PL 478/2007), which has been awaiting a vote in the Women’s Commission of the Chamber of Deputies since 2017.
“This event, successively, was held for 16 editions and is the cause of the causes. The Movimento Brasil sem Aborto is the one who organizes it, and it is a supra-partisan, supra-religious movement, which involves several other movements and dialogues with the CNBB, with evangelicals, with spiritists, with universities”, said senator Eduardo Girão (Novo-CE) to Senate Agency.
Tributes in the Chamber
Among those honored at the Chamber were parliamentarians, authorities, non-governmental organizations and representatives of civil society, such as Monsignor Jonas Abib (in memory), from Canção Nova; and institutions for hosting pregnant women and babies, such as Lar Preservação da Vida (Paraná), the Center for Restructuring for Life (São Paulo), Associação Santos Inocentes (Federal District), among others.
A People’s Gazette it will also be one of the entities honored for having in its convictions the defense of life from conception.
The initiative aims to highlight the importance of protecting the life of the unborn child and strengthening family ties as pillars for the development of a fairer and more balanced society. “Recognizing and valuing those who dedicate themselves to these causes is essential to inspire others to get involved and contribute to building a better future”, highlighted federal deputy Diego Garcia (Republicanos-PR).
