My arrival at the Council comes with the intention of joining forces around sanitation and improving the life of the population in the interior, through the consumption of quality water”,

During the meeting, which was attended by the CEO of Cosama and member of the Board, Armando do Valle, and the directors Juscelino Kubitschek, Michelle Bessa and Maria de Nazaré de Águila, the results achieved by the current management of the Company were presented and the added value with the arrival of Campêlo.

“The arrival of the secretary is a great opportunity for us to improve. We want to expand services, mainly showing how much Governor Wilson Lima is focused on the population of the interior”, pointed out Armando do Valle.

Through Prosamin+, the Government of Amazonas will help expand sewage collection and treatment in the east zone and part of the south zone, where the program will invest R$ 95 million to benefit around 200 thousand people. More than 60 kilometers of sewage collection networks will be built, six pumping stations, in addition to nine kilometers of domestic and intradomestic connections, in the stretch between the return loop of Avenida Manaus 2000, in the Japiim neighborhood, south zone, to the Comunidade da Sharp, on the east side to connect to a Sewage Treatment Station (ETE).

ETE Raiz will be built by the Águas de Manaus concessionaire on land donated by the State.

Campêlo also led the conclusion of the Integrated Sanitation Program (Prosai) in Maués, in 2019, and is now working on the preparation of Prosai Parintins.

In Maués, the Government built more than 18,000 meters of sewage collection network and recovered another 13,000 meters of existing networks. In Parintins, Prosai has investments of US$ 87.5 million, of which US$ 70 million financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (BID) and state counterpart of US$ 17.5 million, focusing on solving environmental problems, promoting urban requalification, bringing sanitation and housing solutions to the municipality.

The works will have a direct impact on the area on the shores of the Francesa lagoon, covering the Castanheira, Centro, Francesa, Palmares, Santa Clara and Santa Rita neighborhoods. But the benefits of Prosai go beyond the areas of intervention, as it will enhance tourism in the city, generate jobs and bring treated water to 100% of the city.
