Mara Gabrilli became a PT base and contradicts her history, says licensed PSDB president – 01/29/2023 – Panel

PSDB licensed president, Bruno Araújo (PE) tells the Panel that Senator Mara Gabrilli (SP), who decided to leave the PSDB after 19 years of militancy to join the PSD, enters into a true contradiction with her history by “starting to do part of the PT’s support base”. The acronym commanded by Gilberto Kassab has three ministries in the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

In an interview with Sheet, the senator criticized Araújo’s leadership of the PSDB in the last elections and said she was disappointed with the way the party distributed resources to women. For her, the reasons would have been the structural machismo of the policy and the centralization of the distribution of resources by the then president of Toucan.

“The party shrunk quite a bit. And I always defended maintaining an independent posture, I don’t believe in the worse, the better. I’ve always been the opposition, but building. Then Bruno says that we would be the opposition”, said the senator.

Regarding the possibility of being seen as contradictory for joining a party that supports Lula nationally, Gabrilli said that Brazil is in a moment that needs pacification, that it doesn’t matter what she feels for the current president and that she is comfortable with herself. .

The parliamentarian has always been critical of the PT and is the daughter of one of the businessmen in the transport sector of the Greater ABC who denounced having been extorted by the PT administration in the investigation into the kidnapping and death of the mayor of Santo André Celso Daniel.

Araújo claims that Gabrilli has the right to say whatever he wants about the PSDB administration, but that he cannot complain about the funds received.

“Only in the last election did he receive millions for his ‘vice’ campaign [de Simone Tebet, MDB]”, says the former minister. The PSDB transferred R$ 6.5 million to Tebet and Mara, according to the rendering of accounts to the Electoral Justice.

The next President of Toucan will be Eduardo Leite, governor of Rio Grande do Sul, who will probably assume the post on a provisional basis as of Thursday (2). The national convention of toucans, scheduled for May 31, should definitively swear him in.
