Manaus (AM) — The Manaus Industrial Complex (PIM) started 2024 promisingly by obtaining revenue of R$ 15.33 billion in January, representing an increase of 12.26% compared to the same month of the previous year (R$ 13.66 billion) . In dollars, revenue in the period in question totaled US$3.09 billion, 15.57% higher than the amount obtained in January 2023 (US$2.67 billion).

PIM exports, in turn, reached US$66.9 million in the first month of the year, which indicates growth of 35.63% compared to the same month of 2023 (US$49.32 million).

Regarding labor, the PIM registered 115,244 direct jobs in January, including permanent, temporary and outsourced jobs, indicating an increase of 3.36% compared to January last year (111,495 jobs).

PIM’s five main industrial segments in terms of revenue share – IT Goods (22.25%), Electronics (17.03%), Two Wheels (18.49%), Chemical (11.26%) and Mechanical (10.15%) — also had a positive start to the year, with particular emphasis on the performance of the Two-Wheel Hub, with revenue in January of R$2.83 billion and growth of 23.08%, and the subsector Mechanic, with revenue of R$1.55 billion and growth of 84.92%.

Among the main products manufactured by PIM, the biggest highlights in January were the production of television signal receivers, with 663 thousand units and growth of 179.41%; split system air conditioners, with 522,539 units and an increase of 36.84%; window or wall-mounted air conditioners, with 57,718 units and an increase of 1,474.41%; radios, audio reproducers and recorders (non-portable), including digital laser disc players, with 64,402 units and an increase of 365.9%: monitors with LCD screens (for computer use), with 245,398 units and an increase of 65 .04%; microwave ovens, with 426,590 units and an increase of 54.83%; motorcycles, scooters and mopeds, with 148,327 units and an increase of 14.77%; televisions with LCD and OLED screens, with 1,169,900 units and an increase of 14.27%; and portable microcomputers, with 46,534 units and an increase of 327.03%.

Assessment

For the superintendent of the Manaus Free Trade Zone, Bosco Saraiva, the start of the PIM year was fruitful with favorable and growing revenue numbers, job creation and an increase in exports.

“We hope that these good results continue so that our Hub is increasingly strengthened and capable of attracting investments and contributing to the socioeconomic development of our region and our country as a whole”,
