Projects received training and mentoring during the last quarter of 2023

Manaus (AM) – The Ecoa pre-acceleration program powered by InovAtiva, from the Manaus Tech Hub, an innovation and entrepreneurship space at the Sidia Institute of Science and Technology, formed a total of 21 new startups, based on the initiative to offer intellectual support and connections for innovative projects , from any segment, in the initial stages of maturity in Manaus.

During a period of 11 weeks, between October and December 2023, startups received access to entrepreneurial training, individual mentoring with experienced professionals and, in the final stage, presented their ideas to potential commercial partners, customers and investors at an event at Ocean Manaus .

The initiative is carried out by the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC) and the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae), with the implementation of the Manaus Tech Hub, support for the implementation of the Foundation Reference Centers in Technologies Innovative (CERTI) and methodological support from the Wadhwani Foundation.

For the Innovation specialist at Manaus Tech Hub, Daniel Goettenauer, the selection to execute the program by the innovation hub was positive. “We were happy and excited about MDIC choosing us to be the executors of the program in the North region, generating local impact and forming new startups for the market,” he said.

The program was developed from InovAtiva Brasil, one of the largest startup acceleration programs in Latin America, but with the purpose of developing innovative entrepreneurship ecosystems at a regional level.

“The relevance is related to Ecoa supporting projects in initial maturity phases, which do not usually receive much support from other programs, especially national ones. The presentation of the final pitches, a phase provided by the initiative, was very important so that they could present the solutions worked on during the training period”, highlighted the manager of the “powered by InovAtiva” program,

said Renan Hubert.

For Helen Araújo, member of the startup Trilha do Aprendiz – a platform focused on developing young talent in partner companies, participation in the program had a great impact on the maturation of the business.

“For us, the main benefit of the program was the maturation of Trilha do Aprendiz as a company, the mentor who accompanied us delved into our world to support the quantification of our market. We had a perception of our own company and we believed that we went up one step and the steps below became obsolete. This clearly shows our evolution,” she said.

Nívia Carvalho, Specialist in new Technologies and Active Methodologies and member of the evaluation panel for the program’s closing event, states that the initiative is of great relevance for the development of the city’s startup and innovation ecosystem.

“Initiatives like Ecoa should be highly valued here in Amazonas, and publicized. How many beautiful, innovative projects that can happen with acceleration and become businesses, enterprises and services with social impact and transformation in the world”, he declared.
