Manaus Free Trade Zone draws the attention of Chinese investors at Eletrolar Show

Among the foreigners, those who most requested consultation from technicians on the procedures for implantation in the ZFM were the Chinese.

Sao Paulo-SP) – The Suframa stand received dozens of technical demands from investors active in industry and commerce, present at the 16th edition of Eletrolar Show 2023, which took place from Monday (10) to Thursday (13), at the Transamérica Convention Center , in Sao Paulo. Among the foreigners, those who most requested consultation from the autarchy’s technicians on the procedures for implementation in the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM) were the Chinese.

During the four days of the event, Suframa employees – and invited technicians from the Secretariat for Development, Science, Technology and Innovation of Amazonas (Sedecti) and the Representation of the Government of Amazonas in São Paulo – carried out two main types of assistance at the stand of autarchy, the F18, measuring 12 square meters. More general and pedagogical information for visitors who knew little about the ZFM and more technical guidance with potential investors, including foreigners.

In all, there were more than 70 technical meetings with industry and trade representatives. In them, the main doubts were about the current tax regime and the possibilities with the Tax Reform and details regarding the Basic Productive Process (PPB).

“Of the 500 exhibitors, we visited more than 150, of which 45 were very interested in installing themselves in the Manaus Free Trade Zone. They were companies that export to the region, wanting to manufacture their products with the benefits of the ZFM and companies that are commercial representatives that, due to the increase in the amount of imports, are preferring to seek partnerships with factories established in the PIM, with a view to manufacturing a product already using the existing production line”,

explained the administrator of the General Coordination of Foreign Trade and International Affairs at Suframa, Adamilton Mourão.

The superintendent of Suframa, Bosco Saraiva, explained that the presence of the autarchy in events of the size of the Eletrolar Show is a way of publicizing the advantages of investing in the ZFM and awakening the interest of the productive sector.

“Many executives are still surprised by the possibilities of the Manaus Free Trade Zone. Therefore, it is important for Suframa to be present at these events so that the operation of the ZFM is increasingly known by those who make decisions on where to invest”,

Saraiva stressed.

Also representing Suframa at the Eletrolar Show 2023 were the Deputy Superintendent of Projects, José Marques; the general coordinator of Communication and Institutional Affairs, Layanne Raquel Oliveira; the coordinator of Business Studies, Patry Boscá; and the engineer from the General Coordination for the Analysis of Industrial Projects, Francisca Nogueira Lyra.
