Manaus FC hires new coach for the 2023 season

Manaus (AM) – After the departure of coach Paulo Henrique Marques in the middle of the season, Manaus FC hired coach Higo Magalhães for the sequence of games in 2023. He arrives this Saturday (25) in the capital of Amazonas and is already following the match between Gavião do Norte and Amazonas FC , for the eighth round of the State Championship, at Arena da Amazônia.
Higo’s first job was for Vila Nova-GO, where he took over the team in 2021 and played in the Brazilian Championship Series B, the Goiás Championship and the Verde Cup. That year, it ended the regional competition in second place, being defeated on penalties by Remo-PA in the final.
“Manaus FC fans are used to being ambitious, fighting at the top of the table. We hope to develop a work with great clarity, loyalty and that satisfies our fans. It won’t be easy, we will have important matches one on top of the other. We are very motivated and the fans can be sure that we will have a competitive team, which does not give up seeking the result in an intelligent and organized way”, declared Higo Magalhães.
Manaus FC vice-president of football, Giovanni Miranda highlighted the organization of the coaching teams by Higo.
“Higo is a new coach, who started very well at Vila Nova-GO, when he took over the team’s technical command in 2021, staying until 2022. He left the fight for relegation and managed to have the 3rd best campaign of the return from Série B, in addition to runner-up in the Copa Verde. We looked for information from him, and they were the best possible. He is a hard-working coach, strategist, who assembles organized teams, with defined concepts. His way of working matches what Manaus FC wants”, he analyzed.
Higo’s last job was for Camboriú-SC, Manaus FC’s opponent in the first phase of the Copa do Brasil, next Wednesday (1st). Before becoming a coach, the professional from Goiânia (GO) played for teams like Vila Nova-GO, Ituiutuba-MG, Itumbiara-GO and Aparecidense-GO.
