Manaus City Hall signs readjustment above inflation for teachers in the municipal network

In three years, wage replacement of the municipal network exceeds 30%
Manaus (AM) – Manaus City Hall, through the Municipal Education Secretariat (Semed), presented to the unions that represent education professionals, a proposal for a salary adjustment of 4.5% for the base date of this year, a percentage above inflation.
According to the National Consumer Price Index (INPC), accumulated inflation in the last 12 months was 3.83%. Added to the base dates paid by the city hall in the current management, since 2021, the salary recomposition of the category reaches 30.61%.
Another increase guaranteed to education professionals is food allowance, of 9.1%.
The proposal will be sent to the City Council of Manaus (CMM), for consideration by the councilors. If approved, the payment must be made later this month of June, with retroactive effect to May, the month that is the annual reference for salary correction in the category.
Above the national average
With the readjustment that guarantees a real gain, the base salary for teachers with a 20-hour workload is now R$ 3,364.67, while for a 40-hour workload, it reaches R$ 6,555.52. The values are above the national minimum, which is R$ 4,420.55 for 40 hours.
Valuation
The current municipal management, upon taking over in 2021, received a Semed with servers that had not received the base date in the previous year. In addition, supplementary law 173/2020 prohibited an increase in personnel expenses in all public entities as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Even so, still in the middle of that year, a salary adjustment of 2.05% was paid, referring to the base date 2019/2020, and 8.9%, referring to the base date 2020/2021.
For 2021/2022, the base date was 12.47%. Adding the increase for 2022/2023, the total increase amount reaches 30.61%. The calculation to arrive at this value is not just the sum of the percentages, since the increase given in a year is influenced by the increase granted in the previous year.
Productivity
For the first time since the implementation of the Career, Position and Remuneration Plan for Civil Servants in the Administrative Area of Municipal Education (PCCR), 11 years ago, the City Hall announced the granting of a productivity bonus of 25% to 414 civil servants. Around 1,400 municipal servants across the entire network will benefit.
Job Plan
Another point that the current management works to value the education servant is the reformulation of the PCCR of the Magisterium. With that in mind, the Plan Review Committee was created, chaired by a member of Semed and with representatives of the Executive and Legislative powers and class categories. The publication of the commission took place on 5/31, in the Official Gazette of the Municipality (DOM).
