The president of France, Emmanuel Macron, announced, through his Twitter account, the presence of the Brazilian president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), in a meeting that should discuss the reform of the multilateral development banks, the debt crisis, the financing of green technologies, the creation of new international taxes and financing instruments. The meeting takes place in Paris between the 22nd and 23rd of June.
In the tweet, the French leader says that “the world needs a green economy that leaves no one behind. Together we can create a new financial pact” and then thanks Lula for his presence. The petista had already spoken about this meeting last Tuesday (30) in a press conference after the South American Summit.
Lula also used Twitter to talk about the meeting. In his account, the Brazilian thanked Macron for the invitation: “Brazil has reintegrated into the world, dialoguing and building partnerships, in search of better opportunities for our country, and a world with more cooperation and sustainable development. Thanks for the invitation, friend” .
It is not certain which other countries should participate in the meeting, Lula and Macron, however, should have bilateral meetings during the Brazilian’s presence in the country.
