Lula says he gave the name of the alleged aggressor of Moraes to the German Chancellor

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said, this Sunday afternoon (23), that he had informed the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, of the name of the alleged perpetrator of offenses against Minister Alexandre de Moraes and his son at the international airport in Rome, Italy, just over a week ago.

Lula called Roberto Mantovani a “scoundrel” during a speech in São Bernardo do Campo (SP), in celebration of the anniversary of the ABC Metallurgist Union.

“This guy was a manager of a German company. I gave his name to the German chancellor [Olaf Scholz]. This guy got kicked out of the party [PSD] yesterday [sábado, 22] for the [Gilberto] Kassab. He had been a candidate,” said Lula.

Roberto Mantovani’s lawyer, Ralph Tórtima, assessed the expulsion as surprising, and that he was “judged by an act that was not even investigated in the proper instances”.

Last Wednesday (19), Lula had already publicly condemned the Brazilian accused of attacking the STF minister. “Such a citizen is a wild animal. He is not a human being,” he said. On the occasion, he also called those who promote these alleged attacks neo-fascists and defended that “these people” must be “extirpated”.

The defense of Roberto and Andreia Mantovani delivered a video that would have been recorded in Rome shortly after the magistrate went to the family to remove the son from the mess. When approaching the couple, says Tórtima, Moraes would have taken a photo of the family and said that the confusion “would have consequences”.

According to him, one of the family members asked Moraes three times: “Are you threatening us?” The minister would have uttered the word “bandits”, according to the family’s report.

The Federal Police should receive, later this week, the images sent by the Italian authorities recorded at the airport in Rome. The couple’s defense must also ask for access to the videos.
