President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said this Wednesday (18) that former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is to blame for the coup acts that took place in Brasília on the 8th.

Lula also stated that the acts of depredation and vandalism promoted by the coup demonstrators during the invasion of the headquarters of the three Powers were an “attempted coup by prepared people”.

“They waited a week and tried to stage a coup. Because what happened here was an attempted coup. An attempted coup by prepared people. I don’t know if the former president ordered it, what I know is that he is to blame because he spent four years instigating the people to have hatred, lying to Brazilian society and instigating that the people had to be armed to guarantee democracy”, said the petista.

Last week, the PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) asked and the STF (Federal Supreme Court) accepted that Bolsonaro be included in the investigation that investigates the instigation and intellectual authorship of the coup attacks that resulted in the depredation of the headquarters of the three Powers.

Bolsonaro’s inclusion in the list of investigated was decided by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF.

The president participated this Wednesday in an event at the Planalto Palace with representatives of the trade union centrals. In it, Lula signed an inter-ministerial ordinance that creates a working group to draft a bill that institutes the policy of valuing the minimum wage. The group will be valid for 45 days, renewable for the same period.

This is not the first time that Lula has referred to the acts as an attempted coup. This Tuesday (17), Lula dismissed 40 military personnel who worked in the Administration Coordination of the Alvorada Palace.
