PTista shared a record made of a call to Isaac Herzog, president of Israel
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) called, this Thursday (12), the president of Israel, Isaac Herzog. In a record shared on social media, the PT member said he was grateful for the Israeli government’s collaboration with the Brazilians’ repatriation operation.
“I conveyed my appeal for a humanitarian corridor so that people who want to leave the Gaza Strip through Egypt have safety,”
reinforced Lula. This is the first record of the president shared after the surgeries carried out on September 29.
The head of the Executive reaffirmed the Brazilian government’s willingness to participate in peace negotiations between Israel and Hamas. To date, 2,600 people have died in the conflict, while the number of injured exceeds 10,000.
“I reaffirmed Brazil’s condemnation of the terrorist attacks and our solidarity with the families of the victims. I asked the president for all possible initiatives so that there is no shortage of water, electricity and medicine in hospitals”,
wrote the president.
Repatriated Brazilians
To date, 494 Brazilians have been removed from Israel by Operation Returning in Peace, conducted by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB). Two flights have already landed in Brazil.
The first plane, a KC-30, with 211 Brazilians, arrived at Brasília Air Base in the early hours of Wednesday (11). The second aircraft – of the same configuration – arrived this Thursday (12) at Galeão Airport, in Rio de Janeiro, with 214 passengers.
The third plane, a KC-390 Millennium, is on its way to Brazil with 69 Brazilians. It is expected to arrive on Friday (13), at Guarulhos Airport (SP).
This group, according to the Brazilian government, includes two pregnant women.
“Of the total of 69 embarked, 29 are destined for the city of São Paulo, nine are going to Rio de Janeiro, another nine to Belo Horizonte, five to Recife, four to Goiânia, four to Porto Alegre, two to Vitória, one to Uberlândia (MG) and one for Cuiabá”,
informed Palácio do Planalto.
Presidential plane tries to reach Gaza
The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) plane that took off this Thursday afternoon (12) will stop in Rome, Italy, where it will await authorization to go to Egypt to rescue a group of Brazilians trapped in the Gaza Strip. This is the first Brazilian aircraft – provided by the Presidency of the Republic – that left for Cairo and not Tel Aviv, in Israel, since the beginning of the conflict with Hamas.
The plane is a VC-2 model (Embraer 190) used by the Presidency of the Republic and has capacity for 40 people. The aircraft is scheduled to arrive in Rome at 6am this Friday (13th) after a technical stop for fuel in Cape Verde, Africa.
