‘Living each game as a decision’

After beating Madureira in the last round of the Carioca Championship and conquering the sixth place in the state, Angra Audax seeks to confirm the classification for the semifinals of the Rio Cup in the next round. In addition, the team led by Caio Couto still dreams of a place in national competitions in 2024 and a place among the top four of the championship.

Before being a technical assistant, Caio Couto took charge of the professional team at Angra Audax after the departure of Junior Lopes. The positive result in the debut of the command of the professional team was the result of a lot of dedication from all sectors of the club, according to the new coach.

”We should always be ready for opportunities. Specifically at Audax, there is a very competent technical committee. My job was to create the strategy for the game and seek to commit everyone to the process: athletes, staff, committee and board. We were happy (with the victory against Madureira). We study the opponent and seek to be a more balanced team within the moments of the game. The strategy was implemented and we achieved a convincing victory”, explained Caio Couto, who went on to talk about the goals of Angra Audax in Cariocão.

”Whenever we achieve relevant results, we take on more responsibility. The important thing is to enjoy this moment with joy and professionalism. I try to give athletes confidence and the desire to be better every day. It is difficult? Yes, it’s difficult, but the sky is the limit. We are living each game as a decision. Angra Audax will seek to add as many points as possible in the competition. We are looking up, dedicating ourselves a lot ”, he summarized.

In the next round, Angra Audax faces Portuguesa away from home and a victory can guarantee the club in the semifinals of the Rio Cup. The duel against Lusa takes place this Friday (3), at 3:30 pm, at Estádio Luso Brasileiro. The match will be broadcast on the BandSports channel.

”Confrontation of great balance. Portuguesa made a good investment for the competition. We have a competent technical commission and professionals who have been adding a lot to the work. We have already studied the opponent to create the best strategy for the game”, he concluded.
