Lira says that Folha’s reporter has a deficit – 05/10/2023 – Politics

The mayor, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), called reporter Joana Cunha, from the Sheetand suggested that she has some kind of “deficit” due to a question about the pronouncement of the leader of the center in New York this Wednesday (10).

After speaking to businessmen at a Financial Times event, Lira began to be questioned by journalists about the speech he had just given and in which he stated that the right is a favorite in the 2026 presidential race, if he does not make the same mistakes as former president Jair. Bolsonaro (PL).

Faced with the insistence of journalists, Lira told a reporter from Sheet that she was being “inconvenient” and demanded that the recorder be turned off. She hung up, but then called again.

“If you don’t understand, you have a deficit,” said Lira, in a recorded speech.

In her participation on the stage of the event, Lira said that Bolsonaro made a contribution by allowing people with conservative and right-wing thinking to “come out of the closet”, overcoming a remnant of shame in expressing their feelings because of the military dictatorship.

“Today’s assessment of President Bolsonaro’s ineligibility is a risky decision, because we are 3 years and 9 months away from an election. There is time for Cláudio Castro to get strong, for Governor Zema to get strong, for Governor Tarcísio to get stronger. In my view, less chance of making mistakes than President Bolsonaro did during his campaign,” he declared on stage at the Financial Times’ Brazil Summit event.

“So, a right-wing candidate, making fewer mistakes, with a strengthening of a base that exists in Brazil, and President Bolsonaro as a voter, I think the picture is quite discouraging for anyone who wants to run in an election in 2026”, said Lira.
