The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), demanded this Monday (21) the discussion with the government about the control of public expenses. Lira stressed that the administrative reform is ready to be voted by the plenary.
“I don’t want to put pressure on anyone, but we have to discuss expenses. If we cannot increase taxes, we have to cut expenses”, said Lira at an event promoted by the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp), in São Paulo, to debate tax reform.
“The Chamber has a PEC of the administrative reform voted in its special commission and we need all the external and internal support. a more controlled expenditure and a fairer Brazil”, said the congressman.
Lira also defended the balance with the Senate in the discussion on tax reform. “We need a common, equal text, and in search of that consensus we are going to continue talking”, said the president of the Chamber.
