In the continent’s main competition alone, the Libertadores, US$ 207.8 million will be awarded, approximately R$ 1.093 billion – 21% more than last year. In the Sul-Americana, the total prize pool is US$ 77.8 million (R$ 409.2 million), an increase of 30%.

In all, the confederation will distribute a record amount of US$ 301 million in prize money – around R$ 1.583 billion – among all its competitions. The amount is 23% higher than the values ​​for 2022.

Award for victory in Libertadores and Sudamericana

Another novelty announced by Conmebol is the inclusion of a bonus for winning the group stage of its main competitions. In Libertadores, for example, each victory will represent an additional US$ 300 thousand (R$ 1.578 million), while in Sula the value reaches US$ 100 thousand, around R$ 526 thousand currently.

With this variation, the Libertadores champion can receive up to US$ 28.050 million – approximately R$ 147.543 million – if he wins all matches.

“The Libertadores is the third best-paying tournament in the world. Upon winning this competition, the winning club also secures amounts from the Recopa (US$ 2.7 million divided between winner and runner-up), the FIFA Club World Cup and automatic qualification to the stage of groups for the following years”, says Conmebol, in a statement about the increase in the competitions’ global awards.

The Libertadores Feminina, on the other hand, is now worth a prize pool of US$ 3.350 million, which represents an increase of 68% compared to the last edition of the tournament.
