LFA and Cajamar unite to promote martial arts as a tool for social transformation

Located in Greater São Paulo, the municipality of Cajamar has been consolidating itself as the home of the LFA in Brazil. After promoting the 146th edition, in November last year, the city is getting ready to receive the 151st, this Saturday, and the 154th, scheduled for March.
But the partnership between the US-based company and the Brazilian city is not limited to promoting MMA fights. According to the mayor of Cajamar, Danilo Joan, the union with the LFA is part of the project to improve the social scenario of the municipality through sport.
“Through the LFA, we are transforming Cajamar into a reference city for MMA in Brazil and in the world”, highlights Joan. “We are moving forward to transform this partnership into social work that, more than training athletes, trains citizens”, completes the mayor.
Danilo Joan believes that the philosophy preached by the martial arts and all its atmosphere have a lot to contribute to children and young people in the region, as is already seen in some countries. Therefore, Cajamar opened its doors to receive editions of the LFA in Brazil.
“The edition promoted in November last year presented to a new audience this power that martial arts have to discipline, to preach respect, and we see this through the posture of the fighters, who even after a battle, shake hands and hug “, remember.
Concomitantly with the work of introducing the sport to new fans – and who knows future champions -, the partnership Cajamar and LFA has already been giving direct opportunities to Brazilian athletes who dream of shining on the biggest MMA stage in the world, the UFC.
“With this Saturday’s, we have two LFA events confirmed until March, but the intention is to promote others later this year”, says the mayor. “There are dozens of opportunities for athletes from São Paulo and all over Brazil. We are going to encourage them more and more so that they can represent our country at a high level in events like UFC and Bellator.”
